Free extra money

Please tick the Gift Aid box.

If you're a UK taxpayer, ticking Gift Aid means the government adds 25p to every £1 you give, at no cost to you.

A £20 donation becomes £25. A £100 donation becomes £125. It's one checkbox on the JustGiving page and it's the single easiest way to make your donation go further.

Your £20 becomes

£20 £25

Just by ticking one box. Gift Aid is claimed by the charity from the tax you've already paid.

A thank you

Donate, and you're in the prize draw.

Businesses across the fishing industry, and plenty from well outside it, have donated prizes to say thank you to everyone supporting this.

Every £5 donated = 1 entry. Winners drawn on 2 May 2027.

There are two draws, Fishing and Lifestyle. Just write “Fishing”, “Lifestyle” or “Either” in the message box when you donate and I'll do the rest. I allocate entries once a week, so give me a few days to email your confirmation.

Can't donate right now?

There are other ways to help, and they matter too.

Share the page

Send it to one person who might care. Sharing genuinely raises more than almost anything else. Most people give because a friend asked.

Donate a prize

If you run a business, fishing or otherwise, and could put something into the draw, it helps raise far more than the prize is worth.

Ask your employer

Plenty of companies match employee charity donations pound for pound. One email to HR can quietly double what you give.

Questions

The practical bits.

Where does my money actually go?

Straight to Child Bereavement UK. Donations are collected by JustGiving and paid to the charity directly. They never pass through my hands. Child Bereavement UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1061359) and in Scotland (no. SC042910).

Is it safe to donate online?

Yes. JustGiving is one of the UK's largest and longest-established fundraising platforms, and handles the payment securely. You can donate by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes. JustGiving lets you hide your name from the public donation list. If you'd still like to be entered into the prize draw, please drop me a message so I know who to contact if you win.

Can I sponsor you offline, by cash or bank transfer?

Please do use the JustGiving page if you can. It adds Gift Aid automatically and keeps everything in one place. If online really isn't an option, get in touch and we'll sort something out.

When is the marathon?

Sunday 25 April 2027. The TCS London Marathon, 26.2 miles from Blackheath to The Mall.

I run a business. How do I donate a prize?

Wonderful, and thank you. Have a look at the prizes page for what's involved, or just email me directly at hello@memoriesmilesmountains.co.uk.

Thank you so much for your support!

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.
