Donate, and you're in the prize draw.
So many businesses have been extraordinarily generous: fisheries, tackle firms and bait companies from the world I work in, plus plenty of people with no interest in fishing whatsoever. There are two draws, and you pick which one you go into when you donate.
How it works, in three steps
- 1 Donate any amount on JustGiving.
- 2 In the message box, write Fishing, Lifestyle or Either to tell me which draw you'd like to be in.
- 3 I work through the donations once a week and email your entries over. Winners are drawn on 2 May 2027.

When you donate, write “Fishing”, “Lifestyle” or “Either” in the message box on JustGiving. That is how I know which draw to put your entries into. Entries are allocated once a week, so please allow a few days for your confirmation email.

How the draw works.
How do I get entries?
Donate on the JustGiving page, and in the message box that appears with your donation, write which draw you'd like to go into: Fishing, Lifestyle or Either. That's all I need.
Every £5 donated = 1 entry, with a minimum of one entry per donation. If you write Either, your entries go into both draws.
When will my entries be confirmed?
I work through the donations and allocate entries once a week, so please allow a few days for the email confirming your entries and which draw they're in. It isn't automatic, it's me at a laptop, and I'd rather get it right than get it instant.
If a week goes by and you haven't heard anything, or you have any questions at all, please do just email me directly and I'll sort it out.
What if I forget to say which draw I want?
Don't worry, you won't miss out. If your donation arrives without a preference, I'll put your entries into both draws. If you'd rather they went into one or the other, just drop me an email and I'll move them.
When does it close, and when is it drawn?
Entries close at midnight on race day, Sunday 25 April 2027. Winners are drawn at random on 2 May 2027 and announced on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Winners are contacted directly, so please make sure I can reach you.
Can I choose which prize I go in for?
You choose the draw rather than the individual prize. There are two: Fishing and Lifestyle. Say which one you'd like in your donation message, or say Either to go into both.
Within each draw, winning entries are pulled one at a time and each winner picks from whatever's left in that draw. That way nobody ends up with a 48-hour carp session they can't use.
Is my donation still a donation?
Yes, completely. Your money goes to Child Bereavement UK exactly as it would have anyway. The prize draw is simply a thank you from me and the businesses who've donated prizes. It doesn't cost the charity anything.
Anything else I should know?
Entrants must be 18 or over and resident in the UK. Prizes are as described, are non-transferable, and there's no cash alternative. Some prizes (fishing sessions, days out, experiences) will need to be arranged on dates that suit both the winner and the business donating them, and may have their own terms. The promoter is Tamsin Green.

A donated prize raises far more than it costs. It gives people a reason to give, a reason to share, and a reason to give a bit more than they were going to.
Anything is welcome: a day ticket, a session, a bit of tackle, a voucher, a hamper, an experience. If you'd like to help, drop me a line and I'll take care of the rest.

Every business donating a prize is credited here, tagged across social media, and thanked properly. Frequently, and loudly.
